My Poems
Many of my poems are reflections of my blackness, and how much I love my culture, its people, and its circumstances. "Who can be born black and not exult?" (Mari Evans)

The Inspiration
“Haiku: Pastor’s Wife” was written for my friend Phyllis Greene, who is a pastor’s wife at an AME Church I use to attend while in college. I teased Mrs. Greene quite often about her position in the church, and decided to write a piece that satirically summarizes the pastor’s wife’s duties in regards to the members of the church.
